From our SUP centre on the Costa Brava, we offer you an introductory session to stand up paddle boarding where an instructor will teach you the technique and how to maintain balance and paddle on a SUP (Stand Up Paddle) board.
Once the whole group manages to maintain balance on the surfboard, we will take a tour on the Bay of Sant Pol – S’Agaró we’ll observe the Costa Brava from a different point of view, at the same time that we’ll explain you the environment and its history. Another way to enjoy the wonderful landscape of the Costa Brava and nature, surrounded by cliffs and crystal clear blue and emerald waters, while practicing your sense of balance and a healthy physical exercise. The guide will accompany the group at all times and will give the necessary technical and safety instructions.
What will you learn on our stand up paddleboarding tour?
Don’t worry if you have never tried paddle, we will teach you everything you need to enjoy this sport. To do this, before starting the SUP route, our guide will explain how to handle the paddle with the best guarantee on the beach. We will teach you:
- 3 basic navigation positions:
- Security position.
- Finally, we will stand up.
- Management of the paddle board.
- Maintaining balance on the board.
- The most efficient paddling techniques and how to handle paddle surf in different situations.
- The influence of wind and sea conditions on SUP routes.
Once the basic concepts of paddleboarding management are understood, we will enter the sea to start the route in paddle surf.
What SUP (Stand Up Paddle) route will we follow?
We are in a privileged bay that offers us different possibilities for SUP routes and routes on the Costa Brava, all of them beautiful and interesting. Depending on the sea conditions we will decide to do one of these routes:
SUP route towards Sant Feliu de Guíxols (South side of Sant Pol – S´Agaró bay): this route is full of caves, coves and little beaches such as: Cala Masset, Cueva del Mussols, Cap de Mort, the Rat Penat cave, Molí cove, Cala del Peix, Cala del Cranc or Ventosa cove.
SUP route towards Playa de Aro (North side of the bay of Sant Pol – S´Agaró): we will paddle next to “the Camino de Ronda” that starts at S´Agaró beach towards Playa de Aro. In this area you will find the sunken ship, the corner of the Hotel de la Gavina and the Punta d’en Pau and its narrow passage.
Paddle surf tour details and requirements
- Age: any age from 10 years.
- Duration: the duration of the activity is 1,5 hours.
- Hours: weekends 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in high season, in low season weekends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., check the calendar for other times.
- Availability: check the course program with the BOOK button.
- Difficulty level: easy.
- Maximum group size: 6 people per guide.
- Languages: we speak Catalan, Spanish, English and French. When choosing the activity, indicate the language chosen.
- No previous experience or knowledge is required.
- It’s essential to know how to swim.

Who is this paddle surf excursion for?
It’s an activity that doesn’t require previous knowledge or experience, which makes it suitable for all audiences, regardless of age and physical conditions. In particular, it’s a highly recommended activity for:
- Couples: surprise your partner by doing a different and fun activity together while enjoying nature and the sea.
- Families: it’s an ideal activity to do as a family with children from 10 years can participate in the activity.
- Groups of friends: it’s a perfect activity to do with a group of friends.
- Large groups: we carry out private excursions for large groups of companies, bachelor parties, schools or colleges, summer camps, travel agencies, tour operators, etc. We apply a 10% discount for groups of 10 people or more on the same paddle surf tour.
What do we advise you to bring?
- Sun protection cream.
- The boards are made with non-slip material, but it is optional to bring some neoprene shoes if you have them.
- Croakies if you need to use prescription or sunglasses.
- Spare clothes and towel for once activity is finished.
We have our own changing room, and near our facilities there are showers on the beach and public toilets.
Other information to consider
The activity will start at the indicated time with the maximum punctuality possible. For this reason, we recommend arriving 10 minutes in advance so that you have time to prepare and start on time.
