What will the young one’s learn by taking our children's sailing course?
During the realization of our sailing course in our water sport centre, children will learn basic notions about the world of sailing, such as:
- Rigging and unrigging a sailing boat.
- Basic nautical nomenclature.
- The basic principles of sailing.
- Identify the winds and the different directions.
- Manoeuvres: how to tack.
- They will learn to dominate a sailing boat in any direction: position, rudder and sheets.
- Capsizing and straightening a sailingboat.
In addition, the little ones will learn to enjoy the sea, sailing and to value everything related to nature.
Details and requisites for the children's sailing course
- Age: this activity is for young children between the ages of 7 and 13.
- Duration: the total duration of the course is 13,75 hours in a week, divided into 5 sessions of 2 hours and 45 minutes per day.
- Hours: Monday to Friday in the morning from 10:15h to 13:00 h.
- Difficulty level: easy.
- Maximum group size: 8 children per instructor.
- Availability: check the course program with the BOOK button.
- Languages: we speak Catalan, Spanish, English and French.
- To enrol the little ones, they don’t have to have any previous experience or knowledge in nautical sports.
- It’s essential that all students know how to swim, since all the activities will be done in the aquatic environment.

- While the little ones take a course, the parents can carry out their activities or rest on the beach watching their children navigate. Or if you feel like it, you can sign up for an adults sailing course.
What’s included in the course?
The price of the activity includes everything necessary to do the activity with the best guarantees:
- Certified instructors with experience with children.
- Collective and individual sailboats to adapt to the speed learning of each student. We have 3 different sailboats:
- TOPAZ ARGO: collective sailboat to accommodate children with the instructor on board. It is a latest generation boat, specially designed for sailing schools. New from this 2020 season!
- RS FEVA: Sailboat with a slightly smaller size so that the little ones can learn to sail with the help of the instructor.
- TOPAZ TAZ: small sailboats so that those who already have the necessary confidence and can sail the boat by themselves or in pairs (always with the supervision of an instructor in a speedboat) They are new sailboats, with a modern design that are like a new improved version from the old OPTIMIST: easier to assemble, self-emptying, noble reactions, faster and more fun. New season 2019!
- Wetsuits of different sizes for cold days.

What do we advise you to bring?
We must pay special attention to protect the little ones from the sun, for this we recommend:
- Swimwear and flip flops.
- Cotton or lycra t-shirt.
- Sun protection cream.
- Cap with visor.
- Drink to hydrate.
- Croakies if you need to use prescription or sunglasses.
- Spare clothes and towel for once activity is finished.
We have our own changing room and near our facilities there are showers on the beach and public toilets.
Other information to consider
The campus will start at the indicated time with the maximum punctuality possible. For this reason, we recommend bringing the little ones 10 minutes in advance so that they have time to prepare and we start on time.
The meeting point to start the course and to collect the students will be in our Office (crooked and coloured little houses). In the following link you will find all the information on how to get there and the parking spaces available.
The parents or the legal tutor must sign an authorization so that children can do the activity. It’s mandatory to report any aspect related to health or other issues that affect minors and that are relevant to the development of activities, such as allergies, asthma, possible special educational needs (SEN), etc.
The development of activities is subject to weather conditions and sea conditions. If these are not adequate, alternative games and activities will be held on land so that the children will continue their learning with our instructors during the established hours.
